It’s been a month with a fair amount of turmoil. My grandmother, Flora Pauline Osgood, died on St. Patrick’s Day, just days after I returned to Pennsylvania from a visit with her in Tennessee. Her death was expected and dignified, but no less hard on the rest of us. She was ready.
My husband and I made the 10-hour return to Tennessee with 2-year-old “This American Life” episodes to narrate our drive. It was a solemn and peaceful visit for the funeral, but I’ve returned to the real world, and I’ll be writing more here within days.
I have a few cool opportunities to jump into in the coming weeks. The most exciting, in my opinion, is a podcast I’ll be starting tomorrow at PennLive.com with my co-workers Chris Mautner and Sean Adams. “The Rains of Podcastamere” (Yeah, how was that title not taken already?) will bring to the Interwebs our take on the fifth season of Game of Thrones. We will be exceptionally nerdy and, we hope, puntastically witty.
It’s my first podcast ever, and I’ll be sure to post at least the first episode here for all interested parties to listen to my weird voice talk about dragons and such.
Onward & upward.
